When a patient suffers from snoring orsleep apnea they experience disruptedsleep and stoppages in breathing nightafter night. This affects their overallhealth and well being, can lead to bothphysical and mental health issues,and has been shown to increase thelikelihood of chronic health problems
There are a number of options for the sleepapnea sufferer. While CPAP is usually thefirst treatment option offered, many patientsare unable to tolerate CPAP for a numberof reasons. When that happens, or forpatients who know in advance that theyare unwilling to comply with that form oftreatment, oral appliance therapy may bea successful option.

An oral appliance is a smallacrylic device that fits overthe teeth, similar to anorthodontic retainer
The device slightly advancesthe lower jaw, moving the baseof the tongue forward andopening the airway
Appliances are customizedby Drs. Parker and Forslund foreach patient’s specific needs
